My Dear Friends & Well-wishers of Sri Subramanya Charitable Trust (SSCT)
Greetings & God bless all of you along with your near & dear. In a world where ego, jealousy, misplaced pride and selflishness rule… choosing the path of righteousness isn’t easy but when chosen right, it shall take you to a higher plane where you see everyone’s good and nothing else. Hence our underlining motto of “Sewa Parmo Dharma” which can lead to our ultimate goal of “Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavanthu” became our only motivation for all our actions. Started in February, 2006 (now in our 18 th splendid year), we have been fortunate to assist many youngsters in achieving their life-goals when it comes to academics, sports & cultural interests in a few towns / villages / neighbourhoods around Ayikudy in Tenkasi district, southern Tamil Nadu. You all have made this possible and we at SSCT are just a conduit to make your good intentions & contributions work towards betterment of one village at a time.
From the start… we are clear in our mind that Trust’s thrust areas shall be Educational support; Encouragement of study of different languages such as Tamil, Hindi, English etc.; Generating interests in Sports / Fine-arts among tomorrow’s pillars of India (ie. today’s Kids…); Women’s welfare opportunity through targeted upliftment programs focused on their employability; Facilities for Old- age persons for stay & nutritious food assistance, etc.
As with any growing organization… we had our teething problems in the initial days, a few noteworthy successes, and some failures leading to significant learnings and course corrections with an enormous challenges to surmount. With 17 years behind us… we are better focused, more capable, with a resolve to impact lives & livelihoods in not just neighbourhoods of Ayikudy but also in Tuticorin and Balamarthandapuram as focused community programs (ie. SAMOOGHAM, ADITHALAM) rolled out for village children’s empowerment, women’s self-help and upliftment and al.
Many of our friends and mentors, almost all our well-wishers have given us a very positive feedback of our work especially for this long a time-period (18 years!) – on our commitment to sewa, work, speed of delivery and the sustenance plan. Being media-shy & not so promotion-savvy, we believed in laying low & doing our duty for all the societal causes mentioned above. But in today’s day & age, we are convinced like all traditional organizations to embrace change like being on internet (hence our revamped website here), promotion of our activities (minimalistic atleast…) to generate positive impressions and reach to new benefactors who believe in our cause & resolve. While we continue to adapt to this new aspect of our working, you along with the community are the sole reason behind all our successes and have indeed brought us where we are right now.
I appeal to each one of you, patrons, to continue to encourage us & give us the necessary strength to walk that extra mile. For more programs to launch, better & efficient delivery of our services to the needy, more neighbourhoods to reach… we seek your blessings as we derive our energy from YOU! Thank you,
